The community Development Cell was formed by the Director, MNNIT Allahabad in May 2006 with the aim to promote training and services to the underprivileged and needy, rural and urban unemployed youths, and to augment the technical and expertised knowledge in masses for their advancement. A team comprising of Prof.K.M.Gupta as chairperson and Dr.H.S.Goel as convener and  other members  was constituted for it. Other members are: Prof.B.D.Chowdhary, Prof.S.C.Prasad, Prof. Anuj Jain, Dr.S.S.Narvi, Er.Anoj Kumar, Mr.Nitin Singh, Mr.Tripti Singh, Er.M.I.Khan (retired now) and Mohd Ajam.(retired now).

            The Community Development Cell organised a number of activities (as elaborated in the bulletin) with the help of its members, other faculty members and staff. A large number of student volunteers (boys and girls, of B.Tech. and M.Tech.) were the main force behind making these activities a success. It is worth mentioning especially of the students who were very dedicatedly involve in the services of orphans children and the children of construction workers
