Central Library Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad-211004
The Library
is sanctum sanatorium in the temple of learning. It is the heart of teaching
and research. The Central library has 1,04,382 Collection of books and bound
periodicals. It also subscribes 53 Indian and 237
International technical periodicals. In order to facilitate all the readers
in selecting the reading materials of their choice, the access to stacks is
open to its members. Keeping the library on modern techniques, the reading
materials has been classified and catalogued as Dewey Decimal Classification
and Anglo- American Cataloguing Rules-II. The functionaries of central library is guided by the setup of LLRC and Working Group. LIBRARY AND LEARNING RESOURCES COMMITTEE (LLRC)

Reader
Services News Papers and Magazines
The Central Library
subscribes
11 newspapers (04 Hindi + 07 English) and 17 popular magazines on different
topics. The Textbook Lending Book-bank (TLB) service is being extended to Institute students since 1967. From the book bank , a maximum of five books can be borrowed for each semester by the students of under graduate classes. Similerly five books can also be borrowed from MCA-TLB Bank by MCA students. There are also SC/ST Book Bank and SC/ST Pre-Examination Training Center for Central Services. Internet Access Facility The Central Library provides 25 internet connections to its user and majority of students frequently use on-line journals for their research activities.

Reprographic Services:
On-line Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) Central Library has fully computerized catalogue search facility available to users through intranet. By clicking this link (http://172.31.57.49/lssearch.html) search page is opened. One can search a book by author, title or subject. In case of any difficulty library personnel may be contacted for assistance.
Books requisition procedure As and when the central library receives the requisition of books in the prescribed format ( form available at the end of webpage), duly signed and forwarded by the HOD’s, the duplicacy of their title is checked. The book is pleased order after the approval of Director.
Journals Requisition Procedure The librarian send a request to all HOD’s of the Institute for the requisition of journals in the coming year along with a list of journals currently subscribed in the Central Library. Library Subscribe e-Resources

– J-Gate Custom Content for Consortia, is a customized solution for
accessing and sharing journal literature subscribed by all the IITs, IISc
and IIMs, either individually and collectively through INDEST Consortium. 23
National Institutes of Technology ( have joined this community of resource
sharing consortium) to whom the benefits of JCCC@INDEST is extended as
secondary members.

2. You can search for the journal of your choice by using any of the given options
By Journal
a) Move your cursor and click on By Journal b) By default this page open with a list of journals starting with the alphabet A c) Click on any alphabet shown above to search for journal starting with that particular alphabet. d) The Journal marks with * to are open access journal clicking on any journal will bring up the article list in that journal. e) Click on “Abstract” to access abstracts of articles where provided. f) Click on hard copy will take you a page containing a document delivery request form. g) Enter all the field and address the request to an institute near you.
A hardcopy of the requested article will be delivered to your institute. By Subject
a) Click on “By Subject” to access the search by subject facility b) Choose a subject under select subject c) Select a title under second level subject d) Click “Add” e) Click on search after required subject are added to the selected list box. The search has thrown up a list of matching records under the chosen subjects. f) Click on any journal as per your requirement. g) Click on “Abstract” to access abstracts of articles where provided. h) Click on hard copy will take you a page containing a document delivery request form. i) Enter all the field and address the request to an institute near you.
