Note
1. Selected candidates are required to send or deposit a demand draft of Rs. 27976.00 in favour of “Director MNNIT Allahabad”, payable at Allahabad on or before 28.5.2012 up to 05.30 PM otherwise admission will stand cancelled.
2. Candidates who have not shown the required certificates at the time of GD/PI are admitted provisionally. They have to produce relevant certificates at the time of registration.
3. Admission letter will be issued after depositing requisite demand draft.

THE INSTITUTE
Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, Allahabad (MNNIT) is an Institute with total commitment to quality and excellence in academic pursuits. It was established as one of the seventeen Regional Engineering Colleges of India in the year 1961 as a joint enterprise of Government of India and Government of Uttar Pradesh, and was an associated college of University of Allahabad. On June 26, 2002 MNREC was transformed into National Institute of Technology and Deemed University fully funded by Government of India. With the enactment of National Institutes of Technology Act-2007, the Institute has been granted the status of Institution of National Importance w.e.f. 15.08.2007.
SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES
The School of Management Studies (SMS) of the Institute was established in 1996 to provide holistic education to MBA students in technical ambience. SMS offers two year full time Master of Business Administration Degree programme with dual specialization in the following disciplines:
· Marketing
· Finance
· Human Resource
· System Management
· Operations Management
· International Business
ELIGIBILITY
a) The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology/Science OR an equivalent degree with Mathematics/Economics as one of the subjects in qualifying examination, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidate’s belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) (it may also refer to as Person with Disability (PWD) category)], awarded by any of the universities incorporated by an Act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or posses an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
b) The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/institution from where they have obtained the degree. In case the university/institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.
c) Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting result can also apply. If selected, such candidates will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if he/she submits a certificate latest by June 30, 2012 from the Principal/Registrar of his/her College/Institute (issued on or before June 30, 2012) stating that the candidate has completed all the requirements for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/ equivalent qualification on the date of the issue of the certificate. However, mark sheet of qualifying examination with 50% marks or equivalent CGPA must be submitted to the office of Dean (Academic) on or before the first week of September 2012, failing which will lead to cancellation of admission.
d) Applicants should note that the mere fulfilment of minimum eligibility criteria will not ensure consideration for short listing by the Institute for group discussion (G.D.) and personal interview (P.I.).
Note: This Institute uses CAT score for short – listing the candidates for its MBA programme. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.
e) Applicants must have appeared in CAT – 2011.

RESERVATION
As per the Government of India requirements, 15% of the seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) and 71/2 for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates. 27% of the seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates belonging to the “non-creamy” layer. You may also access information in respect to the creamy layer at http://ncbc.nic.in/Creamylayer.html. As per notification of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (DHE) No. F1-1/2005-U.1A/846 dated 22nd December, 2011, a sub-quota of 4.5% for minorities within the 27% reservation for OBCs is admissible. In case of NC-OBC category, the caste included in central list of NC-OBC by the National Council of Backward Classes, Government of India as on March 16, 2012 (Last date of submitting application form) will be used. Any subsequent changes will not be effective for admission.
As per the provision under section 39 of the PWD Act, 1995, 3% seats are reserved for Differently Abled (DA) candidates. The three categories of disability are: (a) Low-vision/blindness, (b) hearing impairment, and (c) loco motor disability/cerebral palsy. This provision is applicable if the candidate suffers from any of the listed disabilities to the extent of not less than 40%, as certified by a medical authority as prescribed and explained in the said Act.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Eligible candidates are required to download the application form from our Institute website ww.mnnit.ac.in. Dully filled-in and signed application form along with a demand draft of `1200/- (`600/- for SC/ST) in favour of Director, MNNIT payable at Allahabad must reach The Admission Cell, Office of the Dean (Academic), Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, Allahabad – 211004 by March 16, 2012 up to 5.30 PM.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
Candidates will be shortlisted for Group Discussion (G.D.) and Personal Interview (P.I.) on the basis of CAT-2011 score only. The short – listed candidates shall be called for Group Discussion (G.D.) and Personal Interview (P.I.) at the Institute. Final selection for admission in MBA will be made on the basis of CAT score, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
