Submission Requirements
Academic Submission
Step 1: Submit 300-500 words academic abstract including title, authors, affiliations and keywords.
Step 2: After abstract review and acceptance, submit full paper.
Industry Submission
Step 1: Submit the extended industrial abstract using the Industrial Track Submission Template.
Step 2: The acceptance will be notified to the authors via email.
Submissions & peer review
SHMS‑2026 will use Microsoft CMT for managing submissions and the peer-review workflow.
Authors should register and submit through the official
Microsoft CMT conference page once it is announced.
*The Microsoft CMT service was used for managing the peer-reviewing process for this conference. This
service was provided for free by Microsoft and they bore all expenses, including costs for Azure cloud
services as well as for software development and support.
Submission Guidelines
Academic Submission Guidelines
- Participants from academic institutions and organisations other than industry are required to submit an abstract.
- Following acceptance of the abstract, they are required to submit a full-length paper for consideration in the conference proceedings.
- Selected papers may be published in the Journal of Intelligent Material Systems and Structures (SAGE, https://journals.sagepub.com/home/JIM) or Urban Lifeline (Springer Nature, https://link.springer.com/journal/44285), as detailed on the conference website.
Industry Submission Guidelines
- Participants from industry are required to submit an extended abstract using the Industrial Track Submission Template.
- Following acceptance of the abstract, they are invited to present their work at the conference.
- Submission of a full-length paper is optional for industry participants; those who wish to do so may submit one for consideration in the conference proceedings, and selected papers may be published in the Journal of Intelligent Material Systems and Structures (SAGE) or Urban Lifeline (Springer Nature), as detailed on the conference website.
General Guidelines
- All submissions must be original and not previously published.
- Papers will be peer‑reviewed by at least two reviewers.
- Submit via Microsoft CMT — the conference submission link will be published here when the portal opens.

Journal Publication
Selected papers will be invited for the publication in the following journals:
Conference Proceedings
Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings indexed in Scopus. Authors of high‑quality contributions may be recommended for special issues in partner journals following the peer‑review process.
