Short Biography:

Atul Prakash is an IIT Delhi alum from the 1982 batch. He received his Ph.D. from University of California, Berkeley in 1989 and then joined University of Michigan, Ann Arbor as a faculty member in Computer Science where he is currently a Professor and Associate Chair of the Computer Science and Engineering Division. His research interests are in security of emerging systems. His recent work includes security analysis of UPI-based mobile payments apps in India, vulnerabilities in Internet of Things software stacks such as Smart Things, and security of machine learning algorithms to perturbed inputs. His work in multiple areas of security has been cited in the press and has led to real-world impact in terms of improved security of widely-deployed systems.
