About UPCON

The IEEE Uttar Pradesh Section CONference on Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering (UPCON) is a premier International Conference and provides a forum for researchers and engineers from broad fields of electrical, computer and electronics engineering and technology to share ideas and disseminate research findings. The conference program includes multiple tracks with coverage to these fields. Both industry and academia are heartily welcomed to strengthen their collaboration for innovations towards better society. The IEEE Uttar Pradesh Section is one of the largest sections in Region 10 of IEEE, and is represented at the India Council. The previous editions of UPCON have been organized at GCET, Greater Noida (2014), Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (IIITA) Allahabad (2015), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-BHU) Varanasi (2016), GLA University (GLAU) Mathura (2017), MMMUT Gorakhpur (2018) and Aligarh Muslin University (AMU Aligarh (2019).

About UPCON 2020

The Department of Electrical Engineering, Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad will organize the 7th IEEE Uttar Pradesh Section International Conference on Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering (UPCON 2020) from 27th – 29th November, 2020 with the theme "Technology Solutions for Evolving Smart Grid & Smart Society".

The conference will provide an excellent platform to the researchers to present their research work. The aim of the conference is to provide a forum for experts to promote, share, and discuss issues, developments and applications. There will be multiple tracks in the conference covering all areas of Electronics & Communication, Computer, Information Technology & Electrical Engineering. Each track will have the following main components; a) Paper presentations and best paper awards in each track, b) Poster presentations and best poster awards in each track, c) Key Note Lectures, d) Panel Discussions, and e) Awards for best three PhD.

The conference is technically and financially sponsored by IEEE UP Section and known as the conference of IEEE UP section.

About IEEE UP Section

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Incorporated (IEEE) is a non-profit corporation, incorporated in the state of New York on 16 March 1896. The purpose of the IEEE is to engage exclusively in scientific and educational activities within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, directed toward the advancement of the theory and practice of electrical, electronics, communications and computer engineering, as well as computer science, the allied branches of engineering and the related arts and sciences, which benefit the engineering profession and the public. As authorized by the IEEE Board of Directors, the IEEE Member and Geographic Activities Board (known as IEEE Regional Activities Board prior to 1 January 2008) approved the establishment and boundaries of the IEEE Uttar Pradesh Section on 11 May 1992. The Uttar Pradesh Section conducts activities which assist the local IEEE members to enhance their professional careers and their communities.

The Uttar Pradesh Section is located in Region 10, and is represented at the India Council. The Section was formed on 11 May 1992. Prior to that, Uttar Pradesh had been a sub-section under the Delhi Section since 28 December 1970, and those section officers listed prior to 1992 were for the sub-section. About the City - Prayagraj

Prayagraj stands on the site of ancient Prayag, a holy city that was comparable in fame to Varanasi and Haridwar. Prayag's importance in the ancient Buddhist period of Indian history is attested by the inscriptions on a pillar attributed to the 3rd-century-BCE Mauryan emperor Ashoka. It is situated at the confluence of the Ganges (Ganga), Yamuna and Saraswati rivers. From 1904 to 1949 the city was the capital of the United Provinces (now Uttar Pradesh).
