AI-Driven Optimization and Control in Integrated Energy Systems and Cognitive Wireless Networks for Smart and Sustainable Grids

The rapid transition toward sustainable and intelligent infrastructure has created a strong demand for integrated solutions that combine advanced energy management with reliable and adaptive communication technologies. This special session aims to provide a focused platform for researchers, academicians, industry professionals, and practitioners to discuss emerging innovations, challenges, and practical implementations in this multidisciplinary domain. Modern power and energy systems are increasingly characterized by the integration of renewable energy resources, distributed generation, electric vehicles, energy storage systems, and smart grid technologies. At the same time, the growing deployment of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, wireless sensor networks, and intelligent communication infrastructures has transformed conventional grids into interconnected cyber-physical systems. Efficient coordination among these diverse components requires advanced optimization, intelligent control strategies, and adaptive communication mechanisms capable of handling dynamic operating conditions, uncertainty, and real-time decision-making.

This special session primarily focuses on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), Reinforcement Learning (RL), and computational intelligence techniques for the optimization, monitoring, and control of integrated energy systems and cognitive wireless communication networks. The session seeks to highlight innovative approaches that improve energy efficiency, grid reliability, communication robustness, operational flexibility, and sustainability in future smart grids.

Next-Generation IoT Networks: 6G, AI, Security, and Smart Applications

The rapid advancement of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, 6G communications, and cyber-physical systems is transforming modern applications across healthcare, agriculture, transportation, industrial automation, and sustainable energy systems. The emergence of intelligent connected devices and low-power communication technologies has created new opportunities for real-time monitoring, predictive analytics, autonomous decision-making, and efficient resource utilization.

With the growing deployment of IoT-enabled smart systems, several critical challenges related to reliability, scalability, cybersecurity, interoperability, energy efficiency, and data-driven intelligence have also emerged. Advanced technologies such as BLE/LoRa-based IoT systems, semantic communications, edge intelligence, digital twins, and AI-enabled analytics are playing a significant role in addressing these challenges and enabling next-generation intelligent infrastructures. The proposed special session aims to provide a multidisciplinary platform for researchers, academicians, industry experts, and practitioners to present recent advances, innovations, and practical solutions in intelligent IoT ecosystems. The session intends to encourage high-quality research contributions focusing on smart healthcare, industrial IoT, smart agriculture, vehicular networks, non-terrestrial networks, remote patient monitoring, disease surveillance, intelligent energy systems, and AI-driven IoT applications.
